I painted this for my friend’s child with a Day of the Dead theme in mind. I know the overall idea doesn’t completely come together, but I wanted to try something different. At first, sticking strictly to the Day of the Dead aesthetic wasn’t working, so I shifted direction, and that change helped the skull stand out more. It might not make perfect sense, but I hope you’ll take it as your own interpretation.
